The puzzle pieces are chosen because the human mind is made up of different aspects but at the same time should be looked at as a whole to understand it better. All of these aspects should be connected for the human mind to function.
BIOLOGICAL
Image: DNA
The biological perspective indicates that there are hormones or chemicals in our body that influence out mind. That some of our qualities are innate inside our bodies.
BEHAVIORISM

During Nazi Germany, people were contolled by Hitler. The perspective indicates that people can be conditioned with reinforcements. Hitler gave about a negative reinforcement regarding the Jews, which made the Germans want to wipe them out.
COGNITIVE

The cognitive perspective is rooted on the mindset of man. That man can achieve what he wants depending on the mindset (function) he chooses.
PSYCHOANALYSIS

Psychoanalysis aims to "uncover the unconscious." The moon symbolizes the unconscious, while the clouds are the ones that cover it. The clouds can be the mind's way of covering the unconscious, because it might be an embarassing or traumatic memory. But once its uncovered, a great part of the mind is revealed.
HUMANISM
Image: An angel child
Its main perspective is man is naturally good. That like an angel we are made up of positive qualities and we don't need to be conditioned. Like children, we start out as pure and only when we experience the world around us, that we start to be exposed to negative things.
